The Credit Crunch Teaches Us To Market Our Businesses
We are starting AB Publish right in the middle of a recession. We think it is the right time for us as many small businesses will be looking for cost-effective ways of creating websites without losing any of the benefits they should always bring.
Also, as a new business we need to think of the many ways we must market our business and sell ourselves.
As a web designer, I have met business people of all kinds and this has given me a great insight into the business mind. I have seen how some small businesses have been struggling through these tough economic times. Many of the ones who suffer most have been happily ambling along for many years with well-established secure contracts which have suddenly disappeared. Now this has happened they have realised they have forgotten how to sell themselves.
So this "credit crunch" is teaching us all again never to rest on our laurels. Whilst it is true that we can continue comfortably for many years without marketing ourselves, it will come back and bite us on the bum one day!
So I cannot settle. We have spent a long time developing AB Publish and despite the fact the business is in its infancy, I already have a long list of improvements I would like to make to both the service we offer and the way in which we market ourselves.
This is quite natural at this early stage of business but I hope that once we have become a great success, we continue to strive to improve the service we offer and the extent to which we sell ourselves.
